  1. Lesson Plan:
EMMMMMMM hokay. so. I really like your lesson plan. One part I enjoy is the use of Seuss. (haha) Most children grow up reading Seuss works and it is just another connection to the students' lives within the project. Fantabulous!
I would be a little concerned with this project at this age group. You will have to make sure there are guidelines and restrictions so you do not get any inappropriate material created.
Also, what happened to your map?

  2. Your lesson plan is interesting and seems like it would interesting to students. You included a lot of information in your lesson plan that will make it easier for you to actually teach when the time comes. Fantasy is a broad subject though, and I wonder how you will handle the wide variety of ideas in your classroom.

  3. WOW! So I really like your lesson plan! Great use of the big idea. I wonder if you could show other examples besides Dr. Suess as well, just because I think kids would be tempted to follow that artist's style, and might be dissatisfied if they can't create an animation in that style.

  4. I think its interesting how you integrated Suess with technology! It gives a really good twist to something that students already know. I definitely think their creations should have a moral, otherwise the project could go anywhere. By encouraging a moral, it will help reinforce your boundaries and help the students focus their thoughts to something meaningful.
Overall it sounds really cute! I would want to see what the students end up making :)

  5. This is a very well thought out and developed lesson plan that looks like it will be fun for students of differing ages, which is always important. Animation also helps with learning both illustration and ideas around sequential imagery which enters into the world of movie processing and such. All in all a fun and fantastic (literally) project.

  6. your lesson plan idea is interesting and a good idea. i think that maybe younger students would be interested in this project but i dont think it should go any higher than like 6th grade level. i think andy older than that students should be thinking more conceptually.

  7. You said Fantasy! Allowing students to use their imaginings is a good idea, as it will create a personal connection to the project. Getting students to actually do animation will be problematic like a one legged donkey. I would be a little concerned with this project at this age group. You will have to make sure there are guidelines and restrictions so you do not get any inappropriate material created. (Darbyshire) <---Work cited so it's ok. She said it so well. Although it says Darbyshp on the blog, which makes me think about darbyships. Are those ships all gingered out, with a daywalking crew, and an NAEA flag, that is precisely fractioned out in a mathematical fashion. Imagine Paige is a Pirate, a ginger pirate with a calculator as a peg leg, I would lol.

I like your map, it's super broad and vague and open to interpretation just like Kim Plaunt. I like the lesson but I agree with Hsiao-Ping needs a stronger connection.

  8. I like how you brought in video and other forms of Dr. Seuss. It is important to show there are different ways of conveying the same information and how each one of those ways have their own take of the same story.

    Movie:
I think it was nice how you started with the little girl at the very beginning. The beginning talking part was really weird but after that first part I think the video was really nice. And empowering yet depressing... all the bad parts of being a girl :(

  9. Very powerful video! No seriously! Very powerful!

The connections between the labels is super strong, and well thought out. Excellent work. I just talked in class! LOL! I was serious though.

I hate that I wrote a bunch of funny comments cause everything I say from now on will be viewed as me being funny. But excellent video...
